Hatton Fitness Issues?

Just for the doubters, over the past few days there have been a number of speculative stories about Ricky Hatton’s fitness and well-being.

There has been no denial from team Hatton that Ricky picked up a virus for a short period, but he was so far advanced in his training that he was already preparing to cut back.

Boxing and sports aficionados will know that super-fit athletes can easily pick up viruses and Ricky has simply followed medical advice and briefly cut back, but we can confirm that all is well and Ricky is back on course and cleared by his doctor.

Boxing is the only sport where competitors enjoy seeing each other fail and the use of fictitious names on websites and attacking people and spreading false rumours cannot alter the fact that Ricky is fit and well, and the May 24 show will be a record-breaking event for British boxing.

Team Hatton are eager to reassure the 55,000 tickets holders, and members of the British public, of this fact.

There is no problem with Ricky as will be seen by members of the British press who witness his final media training session today.

Training starts at 12.30 and takes place at the Betta Bodies Gym, Heaton Street Mill, Heaton Street, Denton, Manchester M34 3RG.

Anyone who thinks that Hatton’s people would let him fight if he was not 100% physically fit need a psychiatrist – and the same can be said about the people who write malicious gossip under assumed names.
