Hayes World

By Ryan Evans

Twenty seven year old David Hayemaker Haye has emerged as one of the most talented, promising and exciting to watch boxers to come out of England in many years. His sizzling hand speed, slick moves and extremely powerful punching power has given him a notorious repetition in the cruiserweight division
After being beaten by Carl Thompson in 2004 Haye came back by beating Alexander Gurov in an amazing 45 seconds for the European title. This spectacular performance showed every one what David Haye could do when the time comes for him to show his true ability has shown that he is not to be messed with.
In Haye’s last fight he had to show his raw boxing talent, this was the fight that would show if David,  a onetime Versace model, could mix it with the best and show the division that he means business.
Giacobbe Fragomeni was soaking up all of Hayes punching power, in the 6th round Haye gave him a stunning trademark haymaker with only slightly rattled Fragomeni.

Disaster and reality struck in the 7th round when Haye got a deep cut above his left eye, covering his face and affecting his vision.
Knowing that if his cut gets any worse the ref would have no choice but to stop the match Haye steps up a gear and send some perfect power punches to Fragomeni finally it looks like he may be having affect but blood still flows from above that left eye.
In the 9th with blood still pouring from the deep cut, Haye pulls out what only can be describe as a boxing master class. Speed, power, precession every punch with the same amount of venom as the last. Haye didn’t stop punching until the ref step in, by this time Fragomeni corner had seen enough and ended the fight.

After the fight David Haye was truly rejoicing in victory saying he felt like he was in a Rocky film. The last round proved what Haye is all about.  Perfect punches, dazzling speed and furious power.
In Hayes next fight his stepping up to the heavy weight division; this will test him in so many ways. Every one knows that he has speed, can pick a punch and bring out some power but is that enough for the heavy weight division? Haye will be fighting Thomasz Bonin 37-1 (20KOs) this is far from an amateur record, but if Haye can use his speed and find enough power behind his incredible haymaker, this will be an early night for Bonin.  Haye’s trainer Adam Booth had told Two Dice, that once Bonin’s chin is unprotected; he doesn’t stand a chance against Haye. Even more importantly as the heavy weight division is waiting for the next bright light, David “Hayemaker” Haye could prove to be what the division needs now more than ever.
