TWO TONE

Frank Maloney’s hectic season continues on May 2nd with a mouth-watering double bill at Nottingham’s Harvey Hadden leisure centre.

The card is headed by the clash between European super-bantamweight champion Rendall Monroe and France’s Salem Bouaita.

Rendall MunroePunching dustman Rendall Monroe, who has won 14 of his 15 career bouts, has barely had the chance to return to his rounds since he beat Kiko Martinez to bag the belt last month.

Monroe, who is making his mandatory defence, knows that the Frenchman will not cross the channel without good cause, and a thriller is anticipated.

The chief support is the pulsating clash between British bantamweight champion Ian Napa and Belfast’s Colin Moffett. The busy Napa lived up to his heady reputation when he beat Jason Booth to bag the vacant title last June.

The proud Londoner has successfully made two title defences and will be hell-bent on achieving his dream of winning outright the Lonsdale belt. And Booth has since paid a massive compliment to Napa’s red-hot form by going on and winning the Commonwealth bantamweight belt.

But first up, in Maloney’s busy schedule, sees British light-middleweight champion Gary Woolcombe make his first title defence against Ryan Rhodes at York Hall on April 18.

The top-of-the-bill clash is supported by John McDermott’s bout with knock-out specialist Pele Reid to decide the vacant English heavyweight belt.

And then Maloney’s rise continues with his third promotion, a super-fight between British hero Ricky Hatton and Mexican based Californian Juan Lazcano at the City of Manchester Stadium on May 24.

Frank Maloney Promotions presents ‘Two Tone’ at the Harvey Hadden Sports Complex, Nottingham, on May 2nd and will also be shown live on Sky TV. Tickets are priced at £75 and £35 and are available by logging onto www.frankmaloney.com or by calling the Box Office at 0871 226 1508.
