Wayne McCullough

IS THERE A DOCTOR ON THE PLANE?
NO,
BUT WAYNE McCULLOUGH IS!!!!!!

Las Vegas-April 22, 2008-Former WBC Bantamweight World Champion Wayne “Pocket Rocket” McCullough was making his way back home yesterday on a flight from Montreal, Canada, accompanied by his wife and manager Cheryl and their daughter, when mid-flight a female passenger summoned help for her friend who had suddenly lost consciousness.  McCullough, instinctively sprang into action jumping across the isle to the woman's aid.

The lady in question was slumped in her seat and her companion, who was forcefully pushing her back and forward in her seat, said she wasn't breathing.  Wayne, knowing CPR, checked to see if she was breathing and, confirming that she wasn't, pushed her chest hoping to get a reaction.  But there was nothing.

The flight attendant who had come to help called for the medical cart and asked to notify the pilot.  She decided the lady needed to be removed from her seat so they could perform CPR.  They began to lift her from her seat but just at that moment the lady gasped for air and looked around, shocked to see everyone paying her so much attention.  She said she was OK and was shocked to know she has lost consciousness, but praised McCullough's quick thinking.

A humble McCullough said, "It was a packed plane and I was the first to respond after the flight attendant.  It was a natural reaction for me because I knew I could help since I know CPR.  I didn't panic.  I'm just really thankful that the lady is OK."

McCullough was in Montreal representing the UFC 83 event.
